Nintendo Switch Pro Featuring Resolution Upgrade Tool DLSS and 4K Support Expected to be Launched This Year

Nintendo is one of the oldest and widely known consumer electronic companies in the world. Apart from manufacturing electronic products, the company also engages in producing video games. In fact, its video games business is what has helped the company, which is headquartered in Japan, maintain an edge over its competitors in the market for several decades now.

The company has, to its name, some of the most popular consoles that have been a part of the video game industry at different points in time. Nintendo has also been very active on the game development front and has given gamers some of the most iconic games in gaming history like Mario, Metroid, Pokémon, Donkey Kong, Kirby, Star Fox, The Legend of Zelda, Animal Crossing, Super Smash Bros, Fire Emblem, Xenoblade Chronicles and Splatoon.

Ever since its launch in 2017, Nintendo Switch has been widely recognized as a well-functioning and sought-after gaming console. The success of the console has now led to Nintendo channelizing its energy towards developing an upgraded version of the device. The console will be called the Nintendo Switch Pro and will reportedly be introduced in the market in the latter half of the year. While there is a very good possibility of that happening, Nintendo has not offered any clarification or confirmation about it yet. The company has not even acknowledged the fact that it is developing an upgraded version of the Nintendo Switch.

One first heard rumors about a Nintendo Switch Pro being in the works when Microsoft Xbox Series X and Sony PlayStation 5 were launched. The Nintendo Switch was launched almost four years back and therefore, most users seem to be of the opinion that its high time Nintendo comes up with an upgraded version of the product.

A while back, Nintendo’s Doug Bower refuted the rumors about the company developing a Nintendo Switch Pro. He stated that since the Switch Lite has registered stable sales for a good period of time, Nintendo is not really planning to work on developing new devices at the moment. Experts, however, have a different tale on this.

In a recently published forum post, industry expert Nate Drake stated that he is confident about the fact that the Japanese company will make an official announcement about the Nintendo Switch Pro sometime this year. He further stated that there is a possibility of the console being launched this year itself but if Nintendo faces some kind of delay, it will arrive in the market in 2022.

Nintendo has developed a tool named DLSS which helps in upgrading the resolution on the screen. The Nintendo Switch Pro will reportedly come armed with that along with being compatible with 4K technology. It is also expected to feature a much better portal mode and several other high-end features.
